Dispatchers at Metro Transit's Transit Control Center monitor all bus operations using GPS-based technology.
When there are service disruptions from special events, traffic, construction or mechanical failures, TCC dispatchers work with Transit Supervisors and operators to address the issue so schedules are maintained.
The TCC is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. Approximately two dozen dispatchers, supervisors and managers work at the TCC. Up to seven dispatchers work during the afternoon rush hour, the busiest time of day with around 750 buses spread across the metro.
