Protecting Cell Phones and Mobile Devices
You can help avoid thefts of cell phones and mobile devices on Metro Transit
Safety Tips
- Be aware of your surroundings
- Avoid the attention of thieves by keeping calls brief and quiet
- "Grab and Go" is a technique used by thieves. As a bus or train comes to a stop, make sure to secure your phone – especially near vehicle doors.
- Don't lend your phone to anyone you don't know
Take Precaution
- Register your device and keep a detailed description including its serial number, color and model
- Use password protection
- Consider installing anti-theft or tracking apps
If You See Something, Say Something
- Immediately report any suspicious or prohibited activity to your bus driver, with callboxes on trains or platforms, or by calling Metro Transit Police
