Police Officers
FULL-TIME POLICE OFFICER
The Metro Transit Police Department is hiring full-time police officers. We welcome new officers and lateral transfers to apply. All candidates apply for the same position and serve in a sworn role across Metro Transit’s eight-county system, offering diverse experience and meaningful opportunities to serve.
New Officers:
- Minnesota POST licensed or POST-eligible by the time of conditional offer
- Eligible for up to a $4,000 hiring bonus
Lateral Transfer Officers:
- Currently employed full-time in a sworn law enforcement position with at least 18 months of continuous experience
- Eligible for an $8,000 hiring bonus
- Start with 130 hours of vacation

Community Service Officers (CSO)
PART-TIME COMMUNITY SERVICE OFFICER (CSO)
CSOs provide varied support services to the department by performing duties that do not require a licensed peace officer. This is a part-time uniformed, non-sworn position that provides police visibility and customer relations to the public, with a focus on the transit riding community.
Benefits:
- Start at $29.39/hour
- Tuition reimbursement of up to $18,000

Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university program seeking a degree in a law enforcement-related field
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
