General Manager Wes Kooistra
Wes Kooistra has served nearly 25 years in public sector, senior executive posts. He was most recently the Regional Administrator for the Metropolitan Council, a regional government agency responsible for services and planning of transit, wastewater, land use and parks for the Twin Cities metropolitan area. The Regional Administrator is the principal executive officer for the Council.
Kooistra first joined the Metropolitan Council in 2008 as its Chief Financial Officer. In 2011, he was appointed Deputy Regional Administrator before taking the Regional Administrator post in 2015. Prior to joining the Metropolitan Council, Kooistra worked for the Minnesota Department of Human Services, where he served under three administrations in executive capacities, including Chief Financial Officer, Deputy Commissioner, Acting Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner for community chemical and mental heath services and state regional treatment centers.
